Great tool for in-place jobs : Dremel 6300-05 120-Volt Multi-Max Oscillating Kit

I wasn't overly impressed with this tool. After seeing the info commercials for the heavier version of this tool I was interested. Since this version is 1/3 the price and is a brand name I figured I'd give it a try. It did just ok.. I needed to notch out a 2x4 in a wall to mount a safe. Since there was a combine of nails a circular saw wasn't a good option.. This tool struggled to cut a spruce 2x4. It was pretty slow going and trying to cut a 16d nail was a joke. Note I was using the Metal/Wood blade. I ended up using a good old chisel and hammer.. I played with it a miniature more in the shop and just didn't see a lot of use for it. The capability to notch out molding for cabinets, ect is probably its main purpose. That and as a make shift jam saw. Using it as a scraper or to take off thinset just doesn't seem very practical. I guess if you had a small work area and your not in much of a hurry. assuredly though a manual scraper works as good if not better. And a air chisel would work much better for doing tile repairs. I gave it 3 stars because I think they are a miniature misleading on its uses. It also Imo kicks up as much dust as any other saw. Which doesn't bother me other then it being advertised that it doesn't.. For small very specific jobs it has its place and is probably worth the hundred bucks to some.
